Ber Quinn is a music producer and sound engineer based in Dublin, Ireland. He began his career in the mid 2000s as a musician in his native Cork, playing guitar with The Frank and Walters and playing bass with Mick Flannery.

Following this, he transitioned towards working as a sound engineer in venues in both Cork and Dublin before embarking on a life of touring as front of house engineer for legendary acts, becoming known for his long standing collaborations with John Grant, The Divine Comedy, Villagers and Lisa Hannigan.

Other acts he's previously mixed include Hot Chip, Arlo Parks, For Those I Love, Bonny Light Horseman with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Vance Joy, Richard Hawley, Pillow Queens, The Magic Numbers, Duke Special, Eliot Sumner, Wallis Bird and Givers. Through his collaboration with Stargaze Ensemble, he has worked with the likes of Nils Frahm, My Brightest Diamond and Alexi Murdoch.

More recently, Ber has moved away from touring to work full time as a producer and mixing engineer, predominantly working out of Stoneybatter’s Sonic Studios in Dublin 7. His recent credits include engineering and/or mixing albums with Lisa Hannigan and Stargaze, The Divine Comedy, Jack O’Rourke, Slow Moving Clouds and I Have a Tribe as well as additional engineering on albums by Ed Sheeran, The National and Big Red Machine. Ber has a keen interest in multi-disciplinary projects, most recently working on Teac Damsa’s Mám.

 

Ber believes in marrying novel production and mixing techniques with a traditional emphasis on the craft of instrument blends.
